In early 2006, Fred Goldsmith and Rich Ogrodowski formed their Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, law firm based on these principles.  They learned, as they talked over lunch at the Union Grill -- a burger joint in Pittsburgh, back when both were working at larger firms, that they shared a passion for helping people.  While they had gained excellent experience working at large and medium sized law firms and often representing Fortune 500 corporations, they decided they could best serve their current and future clients, who are often individuals and small business owners, by practicing in a smaller, "boutique" law firm setting.

What makes G&O different from many other law firms:

• We take the time to carefully explain to our clients in plain English what their legal rights and options are.

• We believe our clients deserve personalized, outstanding, and responsive representation.

• We do not engage in volume litigation.  Instead, we prefer to devote our time and resources to a select group of significant cases.

• While we are a relatively young firm, our lawyers have collectively practiced law for more than 25 years.

• We are zealous and strategic advocates for our clients in state and federal courts in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio, at the trial and appellate levels, and before state and federal administrative agencies.  We are also down-to-earth and approachable people.

• Our investments in computer hardware and software, including Worldox document management software and Westlaw online legal database access, have leveled the playing field with large firms and also allowed us to maintain a largely paperless office.  Our attorneys and support staff can quickly and easily access client files and court records, perform legal research, draft briefs and pleadings, and paperlessly collaborate with one another from essentially any internet-connected laptop or desktop computer in the world.
